Accurascale 7812 – ‘Erlestoke Manor’ BR Manor Class – DCC sound fitted is a highly detailed OO gauge (1:76.2) model of the Great Western Railway 7800 ‘Manor’ locomotive in BR Lined Green with the late crests. The model represents the early British Railways crest period and includes a redraughted chimney, flush‑tender body and narrow hornplates, together with etched metal “Cambrian Coast Express” and “Pembroke Coast Express” headboards.

The locomotive is based on a 3‑D scan of 7808 Cookham Manor and incorporates full works drawings supplied by the Great Western Society, Didcot. It features a die‑cast metal chassis, running plate and body, scale‑width wire handrails, etched metal and lost‑wax detail parts such as grab handles, steps and drain cocks, and pre‑painted name and numberplates. The cab interior is fully detailed with many separate components, and the model includes high‑fidelity dummy screw couplings, sprung metal buffers and factory‑installed pipework.

The tender is a Churchward 3,500‑imperial‑gallon type with options for riveted or flush sides, narrow or wide hornplates, and three styles of spring hanger. It is fitted with fully sprung metal buffers, correct‑height kinetic NEM coupler mounts, a DCC decoder socket and a lift‑out section that can be left empty or filled to simulate a coal load. An optional overhead warning‑plate bracket is available on late‑BR examples.

Electronic features include a high‑quality three‑pole motor with flywheel, low starting voltage and smooth power delivery, together with optional factory‑installed DCC sound. Sound‑equipped models have speakers in the smokebox and tender, a PowerPack capacitor bank for uninterrupted operation, a flickering firebox light synchronised with the sound, and electrical pickup from all driving wheels. The locomotive can negotiate a minimum radius of 438 mm, runs on RP25‑110 profile OO gauge wheels, and is geared to reach a scale top speed of 90 mph (145 km/h).
