Accurascale has released a model of the Great Western Railway's 'Manor' Class 4-6-0 steam locomotive, specifically the BR Black (Early Crest) version, number 7820 'Dinmore Manor'.

This model is available in OO gauge and features a 21-pin socket for DCC operation. The locomotive is built to a high standard, with a length of 245mm and a minimum radius curve requirement of 2nd Radius, equivalent to 438mm.

The model is designed to represent the 'Manor' Class locomotives built between 1938 and 1950, with a total of 30 produced. The class was designed by Charles Collett and built at GWR/BR Swindon Works.

Key features of the model include fully sprung metal buffers, factory-installed pipework, and high-fidelity dummy screw couplings. The locomotive also features a choice of lift-out sections, including an empty tender and a simulated 'coal' load.

The model is DCC ready and can be fitted with a factory-installed DCC Sound option, which includes a speaker mounted in the smokebox and dual speakers in the tender. The sound system features a powerPack capacitor bank for uninterrupted power and sound, as well as a flickering firebox light synchronised with the sound on DCC installed models. Electrical pickup is provided from all tender and locomotive driving wheels.

The model's traction features include a die-cast metal chassis, running plate, and body, with a sprung centre driving axle and a metal helical gearbox for maximum performance and slow-speed running. The gearing is arranged to allow the locomotive to achieve a scale top speed of 90mph. The model is fitted with RP25-110 profile OO gauge wheels.
