Dapol 4S-001-008 is an OO gauge model of the Great Western Railway 7800 “Manor” class locomotive Dinmore Manor, running number 7820. The model is finished in pristine condition, painted in lined black with the early British Railways crest, and measures 130 mm in length. It is fitted with DCC sound, uses a NEM close‑coupling, and can negotiate a minimum radius of 438 mm (2nd radius). The locomotive is propelled by a steam‑type motor and rides on a die‑cast compensated chassis with a sprung front pony truck.

The prototype was built by British Railways at Swindon in November 1950, designed by Charles Collett, and served with British Railways for fifteen years before withdrawal in November 1965. Only thirty examples of the class were produced. The model represents the early crest period of British Railways.

Technical features include a slide‑in PCB that allows tool‑free installation of a NEXT‑18 DCC decoder and a no‑solder speaker connection, with the board accessible through the smoke box door. Electrical pick‑up is provided on all driving wheels and on the tender wheels via a conductive drawbar integrated in the close‑coupling. An optional base reflex speaker can be fitted in the tender, and an audio filter on the main PCB ensures appropriate frequency response. The model also offers firebox glow synchronised with sound, a proven slow‑speed mechanism, a high‑torque motor, and Dapol’s RealDrive system for enhanced operation.
