Accurascale has released a model of the BR 21T MDW Mineral Wagon in TOPS bauxite livery. This model is part of a three-wagon pack, with each wagon numbered and featuring individual lettering and codes.

The model is based on the British Rail 21 ton coal wagons, which were converted from the 1/119 and 1/120 diagrams at Perth between 1985 and 1987. These wagons were used for scrap metal traffic in Scotland and North East England, with 192 wagons being converted to the MDW variant. The MDWs had air pipes fitted for use in Speedlink trains, but were otherwise identical to the standard MDVs.

The model features NEM standard coupler pockets and narrow tension lock couplers, as well as extra fine factory-fitted detail plastic parts and sprung buffers. The minimum radius curve recommended for operation is 1. The model is representative of the British Rail Blue period, and is suitable for use in layouts depicting the 1980s to 1990s era.
