The Accurascale BR 21T MDO Mineral Wagon is a model of a British Railways wagon in BR grey Pre-TOPS livery. This model is part of a multi-pack featuring three wagons, each with its own unique number. The wagons are representative of those built in the 1950s by British Railways.
The model features a 4-wheel wheel arrangement and is designed for use on curves as tight as a radius of 1. It has NEM/Tension lock couplers and is built to a high standard with extra fine detail parts and sprung buffers.
The real-life prototype wagons were introduced in 1950 and were commonly used for carrying minerals. A total of 1,500 wagons were built to this pattern, with features including two doors on either side of the body and a third door at one end for end-tipping. The wagons remained in service until 1988 and were often seen running in block rakes alongside other coal wagons.
This model is designed to accurately represent the period of British Railways Late Crest, and features individual lettering and codes from real wagons to add to its authenticity. Each wagon in the pack has its own unique number, allowing modellers to create a realistic and varied train.
