Accurascale has released a new OO gauge model of the British Rail 21 Ton Coal 21VB / MDV wagons. This triple pack features three separate wagons, each with its own unique running number and NEM standard coupler pockets. The wagons are finished in pristine condition and feature a bauxite livery, characteristic of the Pre-TOPS era.

Each wagon has a unique running number, with the first wagon numbered B312005, the second B312482K, and the third B313499. The wagons have NEM couplers and are designed to be compatible with narrow tension lock couplers. The models also feature RP25.88 darkened profile sets with 14.85mm back-to-backs and 26mm over pinpoint, as well as metal 3-hole disc wagon wheels on metal axles.

The wagons are designed for easy conversion to P4 and EM gauges, and feature extra fine factory-fitted detail plastic parts and sprung buffers for a realistic appearance. Individual lettering and codes from real wagons have been applied to the models to ensure authenticity.

The 21 Ton Coal 21VB / MDV wagons were introduced in 1961 and a total of 3,950 wagons were built to this pattern. They remained in service until 1992 and were often run in block rakes, mixed with other coal wagons such as 16t minerals, 21t hoppers, and 24.5t minerals.

The Accurascale model is designed to recreate the appearance of these wagons in the Pre-TOPS era, featuring a bauxite livery and accurate details. The model is a great addition to any OO gauge British Rail collection, offering a range of options for modellers looking to recreate the freight trains of the 1960s and 1970s.
