Containing three wagons, numbered:

• B311949

• Bauxite, Pre-TOPS livery
• 1/120 pattern
• OLEO Buffers

• Introduced in 1961
• 3,950 wagons built to this pattern
• Additional Flap Doors on sides, which MDO did not carry
• Remained in service until 1992
  
• Ran in block rakes, and mixed with other coal wagons such as 16t minerals (MCO), 21t hoppers (HTV), 24.5t minerals (MEO), etc.

Accurascale has released a new pre-weathered model of the BR 21T MDV Mineral Wagon in bauxite livery, specifically designed to represent the vehicle in the period before the TOPS (Total Operations Processing System) system was introduced.

The model is built to a scale of 1/120 and features a 4-wheel wheel arrangement, with OLEO buffers and roller bearing axle-boxes. It is designed to operate on a minimum radius curve of 1.

The model is a replica of a wagon built by British Railways in the 1950s, and features a number of accurate details, including extra fine factory-fitted detail plastic parts and sprung buffers. The model is also equipped with NEM standard coupler pockets and narrow tension lock couplers.

This model is part of a three-wagon pack, each wagon having its own individual number: B311933, B311949, and B311850. The wagons are accurately decorated in bauxite livery, with individual lettering and codes from real wagons to enhance authenticity.

The 21T MDV Mineral Wagon was a common sight on British Railways from the 1960s, with over 3,950 wagons built to this pattern. The model is designed to represent the vehicle in its pre-TOPS livery, and is a great addition to any model railway layout depicting the late British Railways era.
