Accurascale 92022 – “Charles Dickens” is a DCC‑sound fitted OO‑scale (1:76.2) model of a British Rail Class 92 locomotive in Railfreight sector livery. The model is finished in pristine condition, bears the running number 92022 and the name “Charles Dickens”, and represents the British Rail sectorisation period. The prototype was built between 1993–1996 and a total of 46 examples were produced for British Rail Railfreight Distribution. The model’s maximum speed is 90 mph and it can negotiate a minimum radius of 438 mm (2nd radius). Manufacturer part number: ACC2197‑92022DCC.
The locomotive is powered by a five‑pole motor with twin flywheels and a metal helical gearbox, providing all‑wheel drive and accurate top‑speed gearing. It features NEM plus tension‑lock couplers, dual motorised pantographs with full DCC control, and a PowerPack capacitor for uninterrupted power. Lighting includes directional and interior illumination, day/night clusters, red and white marker lights, and separately switched cab lighting. RP25‑110 wheels are supplied with provision for re‑gauging to P4 (18.83 mm) or EM (18 mm) gauge, and two high‑capacity speakers deliver DCC sound.
The chassis is die‑cast alloy with separately applied etched metal and high‑fidelity plastic detail parts such as grab handles, steps, wipers, nameplates and crests. Additional features include fully sprung metal buffers, extra‑fine factory‑fitted pipework and a comprehensive lighting pack with automatic off on movement.
