Rapido GNR C2 Tank No.1528 is a 1:76 scale (OO gauge) model of a Great Northern Railway 4‑4‑2 tank locomotive in lined green livery. The kit carries the manufacturer part number 989502 and is supplied with factory fitted speakers, an ESU E24 DCC decoder socket and MoPower stay‑alive capacitors. It is ready for DCC sound operation and includes a dynamic firebox flicker, sprung buffers, parallel buffers and NEM coupler pockets (363 at the front, 362 at the rear). The finish is described as museum quality with a smooth and powerful mechanism and a die‑cast running board.

The prototype represented by this model is GNR C2 class tank No.1528, originally built at Doncaster works in the pre‑grouping era. The first ten locomotives of the class entered service in 1898 and the final example was completed in 1907. The last fifty were fitted with condensing apparatus for work on the Metropolitan Widened Lines in London. After the 1923 grouping the engines were reclassified as LNER C12 and served across the Eastern region until the final member was withdrawn in December 1958. No examples were preserved.

This rendition offers a range of variant parts, allowing differences in chimney, dome, safety valves, tank corners, bunker shape, condensing pipes and coal rail designs. Models representing the condensing variants are supplied with brass destination plates for placement in board brackets. The locomotive can negotiate 2nd radius curves of 438 mm or greater and is supplied with a painted destination plate hanger on the smokebox door and a short chimney and dome as built. The model is targeted at collectors and railway modellers seeking a highly detailed, operable example of a historic GNR tank engine.
