Rapido GNR C2 Tank No.1020 is a 1:76 (OO gauge) model of a Great Northern Railway 4‑4‑2 tank locomotive, finished in lined green and supplied with DCC sound. The model carries the manufacturer part number 989501 and represents the pre‑grouping period of the original class.

The locomotive was originally built between 1898 and 1907 as part of the GNR C2 class, later re‑classified as the LNER C12 after the 1923 Grouping. It served on local passenger services in the West Riding of Yorkshire, on the Metropolitan Widened Lines in London, and later on various LNER sheds before the class was withdrawn by the end of 1958. No examples were preserved.

The Rapido model includes a tall chimney, dome, as‑built safety valves, square‑edged tank, parallel buffers, a plain smokebox door and a die‑cast running board. It is fitted with an ESU E24 DCC decoder socket, MoPower stay‑alive capacitors, factory‑installed speakers and a dynamic firebox flicker with a fire‑draw effect. Sprung buffers, NEM 363 coupler pockets at the front and NEM 362 at the rear, and museum‑quality paintwork provide a smooth and highly detailed finish. The locomotive can negotiate second‑radius curves of 438 mm or greater.

The model is supplied ready for operation on modern digital layouts, with a smooth mechanism, pre‑fitted DCC sound, and a range of optional variant parts such as different chimneys, domes, safety valves, tank corners and condensing apparatus. It is suitable for use on heritage‑type layouts that replicate the Eastern Region network of the pre‑grouping and early nationalisation eras.
