Rapido GNR C2 Tank No.1511 is a 1:76 (OO gauge) model of the Great Northern Railway 4‑4‑2 tank locomotive, supplied under manufacturer part number 989003. The model represents the pre‑grouping period, specifically the locomotives built between 01/01/1898 and 31/12/1907 for local passenger services in the West Riding of Yorkshire.

The locomotive is finished in the original GNR grey livery with a museum‑quality paint scheme. Detailed features include a short chimney and dome, as‑built safety valves, round tank edges, tapered buffers, destination‑plate hangers on the smokebox door and optional condensing pipes. Variants are offered with different chimney, dome, safety‑valve, bunker, tank‑corner and coal‑rail designs, and pre‑grouping condensing examples are supplied with brass destination plates.

Technical specifications incorporate an ESU E24 DCC decoder socket, MoPower stay‑alive capacitors, factory‑fitted speakers, a dynamic fire‑box flicker with fire‑draw effect, sprung buffers, NEM 363 coupler pockets at the front and NEM 362 at the rear, and a smooth, powerful running mechanism suitable for 2nd‑radius curves of 438 mm or greater.

The historical C2 class, later re‑classified as LNER C12 after the 1923 Grouping, was built in batches of ten until the 60th example was completed in 1907, with the final fifty fitted with condensing apparatus for Metropolitan Line work. The class remained in service through the LNER era, with the last example withdrawn in 31/12/1958. This model provides a highly detailed recreation of the locomotive for railway enthusiasts.
