Manufacturer description
A small class of diesel-electric shunters built by Ruston & Hornsby to work in and around Southampton Docks, replacing the famous 'USA' 0-6-0T steam locomotives. After withdrawal in the late-1970s, several were sold for industrial use around the UK.

The Heljan Class 07 012 (V1) BR Blue Locomotive is a model of a diesel-electric shunter built by Ruston & Hornsby in 1962. This locomotive was part of a small class of 14 units built for use in and around Southampton Docks by British Rail. The real-life Class 07 locomotives were used for dock shunting and were later sold for industrial use after being withdrawn from service in July 1977.
The model is built to a scale of 1:76 and has a length of 105mm. It features a BR blue livery and is DCC ready with a 6-pin socket. Other features include working lights, NEM couplings, sprung buffers, and detailed exterior and interior cab details.
The specifications of the model include a minimum radius curve of Radius 1 and power pickup from all wheels. It has a wheel arrangement of 0-6-0 and a maximum speed of 20mph. The model represents the British Rail Blue era, specifically the period covered by TOPS.
