The model is accurate to the original locomotive, with a length of 105mm and a wheel arrangement of 0-6-0. It is designed for use in dock shunting operations and has a maximum speed of 20mph. The model is also DCC ready, with a 6-pin socket, and features a NEM/Tension lock coupling.

The Class 07 was a small class of diesel-electric shunters built for use in and around Southampton Docks, replacing steam locomotives. The real locomotives were withdrawn from service in 1977, after 14 years of operation, and some were sold for industrial use.

The model features a range of details, including working lights, sprung buffers and an interior cab. The exterior details are also accurate to the original locomotive. The model is finished in pristine condition and is a representation of a locomotive from the British Rail Blue (TOPS) period.
