Heljan Class 07 model D2986 is a 0‑6‑0 diesel shunter in OO gauge. The kit is DCC ready with a 6‑pin socket and features all‑wheel power pickup, directional lighting and NEM couplings. The livery is British Rail green with a coaching‑stock roundel, and the finish is described as pristine. The model carries the number D2986, has a minimum curve radius of 371 mm (1st radius), and is built to a maximum speed of 20 mph.
The prototype was built by Ruston & Hornsby at Lincoln in 1962 for British Railways, of which only fourteen were produced. It operated for fifteen years, with a top speed of 20 mph, before being withdrawn in July 1977. The locomotive belongs to British Rail Class 07 and is represented in the model by the late British Rail crest.
