The Heljan model is a 00 gauge replica of British Rail Class 26 diesel locomotive number 26025, built by the Birmingham Railway Carriage & Wagon Company in 1958–1959. It represents the locomotive in Railfreight grey livery with the Red Stripe and West Highland Terrier depot crests. The model carries the manufacturer part number 2631 and is finished to a pristine standard.
Technical details include DCC readiness with an 8‑pin socket, NEM coupling, all‑wheel power pickup and directional lighting. The locomotive has a Bo‑Bo wheel arrangement, a maximum speed of 75 mph, and can negotiate a minimum curve of 438 mm (2nd radius). It is supplied as a ready‑to‑run model of the British Rail sectorisation period.
