Manufacturer description

The class 121 and 122 (also known as "Bubble Cars") formed part of the first generation of British DMU's. These units were designed to run on branch lines and secondary routes and were ideal for stations that were not able to have run-round loops due to space.

The class 121 units were built in 1960 by Pressed Steel and the class 122 were built in 1958 by Gloucester RC& W. Lots of these units are still in preservation.

The Dapol Class 122 55003 BR Blue Diesel Locomotive is an OO gauge model of a British Rail Class 122 diesel multiple unit. It features a blue livery with a pristine finish and is DCC ready with a 21 pin socket. The model measures 267mm in length, 34mm in width, and 49mm in height.

The Class 122 units were built by Gloucester RC&W in 1958 and were designed for use on branch lines and secondary routes. They were ideal for stations without run-round loops due to space constraints. The model features finely moulded details, including etched grills and directional lighting, as well as a cast wheel in the correct livery colour.

The model also includes a coreless motor for smoother operation and all wheel drive and pick up. It features NEM couplings and a spares bag with additional detailing parts. The specifications of the model include a Bo-Bo wheel configuration, DCC readiness, and a track supply of 12V DC. The model is suitable for the Era 6 period, which spans from 1967 to 1971.
