It represents a single‑car “bubble car” built by Gloucester RC&W in 1958, one of the 29 units originally produced for British Railways. The model is finished in a pristine green livery and carries the running number W55018. It is designed to the early British Railways crest period and is suitable for use on a 70 mph typified service.

Key specifications: length 267 mm, width 34 mm, height 49 mm; minimum radius 2 inch; Bo‑Bo wheel arrangement with all‑wheel power pickup; NEM and tension‑lock couplings; interior and directional lighting; DCC ready with a 21‑pin socket; tungsten chassis; cast wheels with detailed relief and appropriate colour; max speed simulated at 70 mph. The model’s part number is 4D‑015‑008.

Dapol’s inclusion package features a finely moulded body with separate detail parts, accurately applied livery, independently controllable lighting, a 5‑pole skew‑wound Mega‑creep motor for smooth running and fine speed control, and an accessory bag containing spares and optional detail items. The model is supplied ready for DCC fitting, with DCC‑fitted examples also available.
