Accurascale has released a model of a BR Mk1 57' Non-Gangway Coach in BR Rail Blue livery, as part of their 'Transporting Britain' range. This coach is a representation of the period before the TOPS (Total Operations Processing System) renumbering scheme was introduced.

The model is built in OO gauge and features a die-cast metal chassis with a plastic body for a realistic running weight. It has accurate replica BREL BR1 bogies, with detailed brake blocks and blackened RP25-110 Profile Wheels running on 26mm axles. The model also features a NEM standard coupling socket and a kinematic close coupling system.

The coach's details include scale width wire handrails, water pipes, and passenger communication gear, as well as separately fitted door handles and lamp brackets. The headstock pipes and cabling are also included. The under-frame is fully detailed, featuring vacuum cylinders, battery boxes, dynamo, and piping, all of which are separately applied. The roof is easily removable, allowing for easy access to the interior for detailing and passenger fitting.

The interior of the coach is fully detailed, with highly detailed seating and luggage racks, as well as framed artworks on the interior bulkheads. The glazing is prism free and flush, and the roof vents are separately fitted in the correct locations. The model also features a full lighting package, including magnetically controlled interior lighting, all bogie pick-ups, and a 'stay-alive' super-capacitor bank to prevent flicker-free lighting.
