Accurascale has released a new OO gauge model of a BR Mk1 57' Non-Gangway Coach in BR Rail Blue livery. This model is part of the 'Transporting Britain' range and represents a coach type commonly used on East Anglian commuter services from Kings Cross, Moorgate and Liverpool Street, as well as other regions including the Eastern, Western, Midland and Scottish regions.

The model features highly-detailed die-cast metal and plastic components, with accurate replica BREL BR1 bogies and blackened RP25-110 profile wheels on brass bearings for smooth running. It also includes a NEM standard coupling system and scale width wire handrails and passenger communication gear.

Key features of the model include a fully detailed under-frame with vacuum cylinders, battery boxes, dynamo and piping, as well as separately fitted door handles and lamp brackets. The roof is easily removable for interior detailing and passenger fitting, and the interior features a fully accurate replica layout with highly detailed seating and luggage racks. The model also includes a full lighting package, including magnet 'wand' controlled interior lighting and all bogie pick-ups, as well as a 'stay-alive' super-capacitor bank for flicker-free lighting.

This model is built to a scale of 1:76.2 and is designed for use on 16.5mm track, with a minimum radius curve of 2. The model is available in BR blue livery, which was typical of the period represented by this model, namely British Rail Blue (pre-TOPS), from 1954 to 1956.
