Accurascale's OO gauge model of the BR Mk1 57' Non-Gangway Coach in BR Rail Blue livery is part of the 'Transporting Britain' range. This coach type was widely used by British Railways for commuter services in the Eastern, Western, Midland and Scottish regions, as well as on services heading to and from London.

The model features a highly-detailed die-cast body and metal chassis, with a replica of the BREL BR1 bogie. The wheels are made from blackened brass and have blackened RP25-110 Profile Wheels set in to blackened brass bearings for smooth running. The model also includes NEM standard coupling sockets and a kinematic close coupling system.

The coach is fully detailed, with features such as scale width wire handrails, water pipes, and passenger communication gear. Separate door handles and lamp brackets are also included, along with headstock pipes and cabling. The under-frame is fully detailed and features vacuum cylinders, battery boxes, dynamo and piping, all of which are separately applied.

The model's interior features a fully accurate replica layout, including highly detailed seating and luggage racks. The bulkheads are decorated with framed artworks, and the glazing is prism-free. The roof vents are separately fitted in the correct locations.

The model includes a full lighting package, including magnet 'wand' controlled interior lighting, all bogie pick-ups, and a 'stay-alive' super-capacitor bank to prevent flicker-free lighting. The model is built to a scale of 1:76.2 and is designed for use on 16.5mm track, with a minimum radius curve of 2.

The model is based on a real-life coach built by British Railways between 1954 and 1956, and is a representation of the period before the TOPS (Total Operations Processing System) numbering system was introduced.
