Prototype Era
Era 2 (1875 to 1923) Pre-grouping
Entering service with the LB&SCR as No. 68 Clapham, the locomotive was sold to LSWR in March 1903 for use on the new Lyme Regis branch, receiving the number 735. Unfortunately, the Terrier was not suited to the sharply curved and steeply graded line and 735 was moved to light shunting and other branch line duties until late 1911, when the locomotive was reboilered.
Re-entering traffic the following summer, minus condensing gear and exhaust steam pipes, 735 was engaged on the Chard branch until it was fitted with motor-train gear for use on the Lee-on-Solent Light Railway.

* Class names often change over the lifespan of a locomotive, so this is not necessarily the class name used by the operator in the period modelled.

Class A1X Terrier 0-6-0T 32635 Brighton Works in BR LBSCR-style improved engine green
Hornby LSWR “Terrier” 0‑6‑0T model, part number R3846, is a painted OO‑gauge locomotive representing a pre‑grouping A1/A1X “Terrier” class built by Brighton Works between 1872 and 1880. It features a three‑pole skew‑wound motor with power pickup on all wheels, a DCC‑ready 6‑pin socket, NEM/tension‑lock coupling, and a minimum curve radius of 371 mm (first radius). The model measures 105 mm in length, is finished in green livery, and carries the running number 735.
The prototype entered service with the LB&SCR as No 68 “Clapham” and was sold to the LSWR on 03/03/1903, where it served the newly opened Lyme Regis branch before being reassigned to light shunting and branch duties. After a re‑boilering in late 1911, it returned to traffic in the summer of 1912 without condensing gear and later operated on the Chard branch and the Lee‑on‑Solent Light Railway after being fitted with motor‑train gear.
