Prototype Era
Era 5 (1956 to 1966) British Railways Late Crest
A 650 hp diesel- hydraulic design built by BR's Western Region to replace the legendary GWR Pannier Tanks. However, the type found little work with BR and many ended up with the National Coal Board and British Steel, or even sold abroad.
* Class names often change over the lifespan of a locomotive, so this is not necessarily the class name used by the operator in the period modelled.

The Heljan Class 14 BR Two Tone Green Locomotive D9505 model is a representation of a diesel hydraulic locomotive built by British Railways at Swindon between 1964 and 1965. Fifty-six of these locomotives were produced, with the model featuring a 0-6-0 wheel arrangement. The locomotive had a maximum speed of 40 mph and was used by British Railways.
The model is currently available in a pristine two-tone green livery with a running number of D9505. It is DCC ready, with an 8-pin socket, and features all-wheel power pickup and a NEM/Tension lock coupling. The model is suitable for use on minimum radius 2 curves. The locomotive was withdrawn from service in April 1968, after a three-year period of operation.
A range of new models based on the Class 14 locomotive is expected to be released in 2022, including a Western Region ballast train pack featuring four 'Dogfish' hoppers. These models will cater to the strong demand for British Railways, industrial, and preserved liveries on these popular locomotives.
