Manufacturer description

A 650 hp diesel- hydraulic design built by BR's Western Region to replace the legendary GWR Pannier Tanks. However, the type found little work with BR and many ended up with the National Coal Board and British Steel, or even sold abroad.

The Heljan Class 14 Buckminster Quarries Green Locomotive No.21 is a model of a diesel locomotive in the Class 14 series. The model has a green livery and features a 0-6-0 wheel arrangement. It is DCC ready with an 8-pin socket and has all-wheel power pickup. The model's specifications include a minimum radius curve of 2 and a maximum speed of 40 mph.

The Class 14 was built by British Railways' Swindon Works between 1964 and 1965, with a total of 56 locomotives produced. The model represents the period before the introduction of the TOPS system, with a British Rail Blue livery. The manufacturer, Heljan, is expected to release further updates to the model in 2022.

The Class 14 has proven to be a popular model, with strong demand for various liveries, including preserved and industrial versions. A number of new versions are in preparation, including a Western Region ballast train pack featuring four 'Dogfish' hoppers.
