Manufacturer description

A 650 hp diesel- hydraulic design built by BR's Western Region to replace the legendary GWR Pannier Tanks. However, the type found little work with BR and many ended up with the National Coal Board and British Steel, or even sold abroad.

The Heljan Class 14 NCB South Wales Pale Blue Locomotive D9530 is a model of a diesel locomotive. It features a pale blue livery and has a running number of D9530. The model is DCC ready, with an 8-pin socket and offers a minimum radius curve of 2. The locomotive has a 0-6-0 wheel arrangement and is powered by a diesel motive power.

Production of the Class 14 locomotive took place between 1964 and 1965, with a total of 56 units being built at the Swindon works. The locomotives were ordered by British Railways and were used by the National Coal Board in South Wales. The model represents the locomotive in its original British Railways Late Crest period.

The model features a pristine finish and has a NEM/Tension lock coupling. It has power pickup on all wheels and a maximum speed of 40 miles per hour. The locomotive was withdrawn from service in October 1968 after a service life of three years.
