It is supplied as DCC ready and carries the manufacturer part number CL55 (D9019). The model represents a British Railways late‑crest locomotive as it appeared after 1965.

The kit offers a range of optional fittings, including different headcode panel layouts, windscreen wiper arrangements, steam heat boiler port variations and assorted sandbox hatch designs. Cabside windows can be fitted, and cab air vents, horn positions, cast and fabricated bogies and fully functional high‑intensity and WIPAC lights are provided to match privatisation‑era mainline operation.

Technical details feature separately applied metal detail parts such as grab handles, steps and wipers, correct‑height mini‑tension‑lock couplers with NEM sockets and a fully detailed buffer beam. The locomotive is driven by a five‑pole motor with two flywheels and a metal helical gearbox, delivering a scale top speed of 100 mph. It includes a DCC‑ready 21‑pin interface, a comprehensive lighting pack with directional, DC and DCC lights, switchable cab illumination and an auto‑off driver’s console. RP25‑110 OO wheels are supplied with provision for re‑gauging to P4 and EM gauge, and metal buffers are fully sprung. Minimum operating radius is 438 mm (second radius set‑track). The photographs illustrate an early production sample.
