Accurascale Alycidon Class 55 D9009 Deltic – limited edition model in British Rail blue, fitted with pre‑TOPS number for mainline operation. The locomotive includes factory fitted DCC sound using the ESU Loksound 5 chip and two quality speakers, interior lighting, a high‑intensity headlight and GPS pods to match the privatisation era appearance (Era 9).
The model is part of a joint range produced by Accurascale, Rails of Sheffield, Locomotion Models and the Deltic Preservation Society. It is expected to be released in Q1 2022 (01-03-2022) and will be offered with a variety of detail options such as different headcode panels, windscreen wiper arrangements, steam heat boiler ports, cabside windows, sandbox hatches, air vents and horn positions. Cast and fabricated bogies, fully functional mainline lights and correctly placed ETS connections are also included.
Technical specifications include separately applied metal detail parts, correctly positioned NEM socket couplers, a detailed buffer beam, a five‑pole motor with two flywheels, a metal helical gearbox and gearing that enables a scale top speed of 100 mph. The locomotive is DCC ready with a 21‑pin interface, and features a comprehensive lighting pack with directional, DC and DCC lights, controllable marker lights, separate cab lighting and an illuminated driver’s console that switches off on movement.
The model rides on RP25‑110 oo‑scale wheels with the option to re‑gauge to p4 or EM gauge, has fully sprung metal buffers, fine factory‑fitted pipework and a minimum curve radius of 438 mm (second radius set‑track).
