Accurascale ‘The Green Howards’ Class 55 D9008 Deltic is a limited‑edition model released as part of the Rails of Sheffield range. The locomotive is supplied in ex‑works green livery as it appeared in July 1961, without the later yellow warning panel or the name that was only applied on 30 September 1963. It features a central British Railways totem, plain side panels and a range of optional headcode and windscreen wiper arrangements.
The model is DCC ready with a 21‑pin interface and has DCC sound fitted. Interior lighting is included, with separate cab lighting, driver’s console illumination and selectable marker lights. High‑intensity and WIPAC lights replicate those used on main‑line runs in the privatisation era. The RP25‑110 OO wheels are provided with the option to re‑gauge to P4 or EM gauge, and fully sprung metal buffers are fitted.
Technical details include separately applied metal detail parts such as grab handles, steps and wipers, correct‑height mini‑tension‑lock couplers with NEM sockets, and a fully detailed buffer beam. The traction system uses a five‑pole motor with two flywheels and a metal helical gearbox, allowing a scale top speed of 100 mph. Minimum curve radius is 438 mm (second radius set‑track).
