This OO gauge model is of a British Railways 1500 class 0-6-0PT Pannier Tank locomotive, No. 1501, in lined black livery with an early crest. The model is based on a preserved example and is fitted with DCC sound.
The model is a part of the Rapido BR 15xx Pannier Tank collection and is built to a high standard, with a die-cast metal construction and a high quality motor and mechanism. It features a Next18 decoder socket and a wealth of separately fitted details, including NEM coupler pockets and sprung buffers.
The model is accurate in its representation of the prototype, with a running number of 1501 and a livery that reflects the locomotive as it would have appeared in service. It is a faithful representation of the locomotive that was built at Swindon in July 1949 and remained in service until January 1961, when it was withdrawn from service.
