Rapido's OO gauge model BR 15xx No. 1500 is a highly detailed representation of a Great Western Railway 1500 class 0-6-0PT pannier tank locomotive. The model features a die-cast metal construction and a high quality motor and mechanism, ensuring smooth and reliable running.
The model is finished in a pristine unlined black livery with the early British Railways crest. It is equipped with a NEM coupling and tension lock, allowing for easy coupling and uncoupling of other model trains. The model also features a Next18 decoder socket, allowing for easy installation of a digital command control system.
The locomotive is based on the real BR 15xx class, which was built at Swindon in June 1949 by British Railways. Only 10 of these locomotives were produced, and this model represents No. 1500. The real locomotive was withdrawn in December 1963 after a service life of 14 years. The model includes a range of separately fitted details, including sprung buffers, adding to its high level of realism.
This model is part of Rapido's BR 15xx Pannier Tank collection, which offers modellers a range of options for creating a realistic and authentic model railway layout.
