GWR 15xx ‘what if’ No.1500 (DCC Sound Fitted)
The Rapido GWR 15xx 'what if' locomotive number 1500 is a model of a 0-6-0 pannier tank locomotive. It is manufactured in OO gauge and is DCC ready, featuring a Next18 decoder socket for easy digital control. The model represents a 'what if' scenario in British Rail green livery, rather than its original GWR livery.
The locomotive is constructed from die-cast metal and features a high quality motor and mechanism. The model is part of the Rapido BR 15xx Pannier Tank collection, which aims to represent the Big Four period of British railway history. This period, which began in 1948, was characterised by the existence of four major railway companies: the Great Western Railway, London, Midland and Scottish Railway, London and North Eastern Railway, and Southern Railway.
The model features a range of separately fitted details, including those typical of a pannier tank locomotive. It also features NEM coupler pockets and sprung buffers, allowing for smooth and realistic coupling and uncoupling of carriages.
