The Rapido BR 15xx, No.1505 Lined Black Early Crest, is a model of a steam locomotive representing a Great Western Railway 1500 class 0-6-0PT pannier tank locomotive. The model is designed to depict the locomotive in its early British Railways livery, complete with a lined black finish and the early emblem.
The model is built to OO gauge and features a die-cast metal construction. It has a high-quality motor and mechanism, and a Next18 decoder socket for easy DCC sound fitting. The model includes a range of separately fitted details, including NEM coupler pockets and sprung buffers.
The prototype locomotive was built at Swindon and entered service in August 1949, remaining in service for 12 years until its withdrawal in May 1962. Only 10 of this class were produced, making the model a rare representation of this particular locomotive.
