The Rapido BR 15xx No. 1500 is a model railway locomotive representing the Great Western Railway's 1500 class pannier tank locomotive. The model is designed to the OO gauge scale and features a pristine finish. It is DCC ready, with a Next18 socket for easy digital control. The locomotive has a black livery with the early emblem of the British Railways crest.
The model is built from die-cast metal and features a high-quality motor and mechanism. It also includes a range of separately fitted details, such as NEM coupler pockets and sprung buffers. The locomotive is designed to represent a BR 1500 class pannier tank, built by British Railways at Swindon in June 1949. Only 10 of these locomotives were produced and they were withdrawn from service in December 1963, after a 14-year lifespan.
The model is part of the Rapido BR 15xx Pannier Tank collection and is designed to represent the early crest period of British Railways. The locomotive is powered by a steam engine and features a 0-6-0PT wheel arrangement.
