The Rapido BR 15xx - No.1509 NCB Maroon is a model of a Great Western Railway 1500 class 0-6-0PT steam locomotive. This model is part of the Rapido BR 15xx Pannier Tank collection, which is designed to represent British Railways locomotives from the late crest period.
The model is built to OO gauge and features a die-cast metal construction. It is finished in pristine condition, with a National Coal Board Maroon livery and separately fitted details. The locomotive is designed to be DCC ready, with a Next18 socket for fitting a decoder. The model also features NEM coupler pockets and sprung buffers for added realism.
The model is a representation of a locomotive built in 1949, one of a total of 10 produced. The class 1500 locomotives were designed by Frederick Hawksworth, and the model captures the essence of the original locomotive's design and features.
