Manufacturer description

The AA was formed in 1905 famously meeting in the Trocadero Restaurant in London. Memberhip of the organisation grew rapidly and five years later they had patrols across the country. Intially the cycle scouts were employed at weekends to advise members of police traps ahead, but this soon changed as they began helping stranded motorists. In the late 1940's the introduction of two-way radio transformed the organisation as they were able to be contacted centrally to attend a members vehicle. The Morris Minor 1000 was introduced in 1956 and from this original car all sorts of variations were introduced . These included vans , commercial vehicles ,pick-ups and campers.

Oxford Diecast AA Morris Minor is a 1:76 scale model produced under the part number 76MM016. The vehicle is presented in British Rail Blue livery, representing the pre‑TOPS period. The Automobile Association (AA) was founded in 1905, famously convening at the Trocadero Restaurant in London. Membership expanded rapidly and by 1910 patrols were operating nationwide. Initially, cycle scouts were employed at weekends to warn members of police traps, but they soon began assisting stranded motorists. In the late 1940s the introduction of two‑way radio allowed centralised contact with patrols, improving response times for members' vehicles.

The Morris Minor 1000 was launched in 1956. From the original saloon a range of variants were developed, including vans, commercial vehicles, pick‑ups and campers. The diecast model reflects the original 1000 version of this iconic British car.
