The Class 15 diesel locomotive was designed by British Thomson-Houston and built between 1957 and 1961 by Yorkshire Engine Company and the Clayton Equipment Company. 44 of these locomotives were built in this class and mostly used for freight traffic. These locomotives were withdrawn from service between 1968 and 1971.
