The model is DCC ready with an 8‑pin socket and is compatible with the Gaugemaster DCC92 decoder. It is supplied as a ready‑to‑run OO gauge kit, with a pristine finish and directional lighting, power being collected from all wheels.
Technical data includes a Bo‑Bo wheel arrangement, NEM couplings and a minimum curve radius of 2nd radius (438 mm). The locomotive represents a diesel‑powered Class 15 built between 1957 and 1961 by British Thomson Houston (first batch at Yorkshire Engine Company, second batch at Clayton Equipment Co). It carries the running number D8208, a maximum speed of 60 mph, and a manufacturer part number 1510. The model represents the British Railways late‑crest period.
