Ex-S.C.C National Coal Board Chaldron Pack
Accurascale has released a pack of three OO gauge models of P1 style Chaldron wagons in the livery of the North Eastern Railway. The wagons are based on photographic evidence and records from various collieries and are designed to represent the period around 1890. Each wagon in the pack has a different running number: 6597, 2216, and 4563.
The models feature die-cast metal chassis and plastic bodies, with a weight of 9g unloaded. They can operate on minimum radius curves of 371mm. The wagons have been designed to represent different styles, including split spoke, star spoke, and wave spoke wheels, as well as various braking arrangements and 'bang-boards'. Additional details include eroded metal and plastic parts, scale width wire handrails, and metal pin jaw couplings.
The wagons are connected using a new link fine chain with Neodymium magnetic heads, and two extra NEM magnetic couplings are supplied with the pack for use with locomotives and other rolling stock. The models feature authentic colliery markings and numbers based on actual photographic evidence.
