Rapido GWR 45xx No. 4507 is a 1:76 scale (OO gauge) model of a British Railways late‑crest GWR Small Prairie 2‑6‑2T locomotive, finished in lined green. The model carries the manufacturer part number 951609 and is supplied with DCC sound, a Next18 DCC decoder socket, factory‑fitted speakers, firebox flicker and a MoPower stay‑alive capacitor.
Key external details include a tapered chimney, superheated boiler with long smokebox, outside steam pipes, short safety‑valve cover with top feed, extended straight running board with Mk 3 bunker and fender, 14‑spoke large‑boss wheels with crescent‑shaped weights, steel cab roof with peaked rainstrips, late‑era rocker‑arm covers, sandboxes, parallel buffers and a tall front spring cover. The locomotive is fitted with ATC equipment, sprung buffers, NEM 362 coupler pockets and additional rivets on the side tanks.
The model reproduces historical features such as the late‑crest cabside shutters, the central boiler handrail with extra handrails and the original‑length running board found on early 1909 examples. It is presented as a highly detailed, smooth‑running replica of No. 4507, the final Wolverhampton‑built member of the class, withdrawn in October 1963 and scrapped in 1964.
The product is available ready‑to‑run on DCC layouts, with optional etched brass number plates provided in the detail bag for modelers who prefer a more authentic finish.
