Heljan Tango 3965 LNER Stepped Tender is a OO gauge, DCC ready model locomotive featuring a 21‑pin socket. The kit is supplied in a pristine finish and carries the running number 3965 in the LNER black livery. It measures 250 mm in length and is designed for a minimum radius curve of the second radius (438 mm). The model includes NEM/tension‑lock couplings and a power pickup restricted to the locomotive.

The prototype was introduced by the Great Northern Railway in 1921 to a design by Nigel Gresley and built in 1932 at Doncaster Works and North British, Glasgow. Classified as LNER O2/3, the 2‑8‑0 steam engine was intended for heavy mineral train work and operated in the GNR/LNER network, later the British Rail Eastern Region. A total of 67 were produced, with later batches featuring improved cabs and larger tenders.

The model represents the later O2/3 and O2/4 variants and is intended to depict the period of the Big Four railway companies (LNER, LMS, GWR and SR). The manufacturer part number is 3910.
