The Bachmann OO gauge model depicts a British Rail Class 04 0-6-0 diesel-mechanical shunter, carrying the running number D2282. It is built to a 1:76 scale, with a length of 108 mm and a chassis that combines plastic and metal components. The model uses NEM-type coupling pockets and comes fitted with tension-lock couplings, suitable for standard OO gauge layouts.
The locomotive is represented in the late-crest era of British Railways and can negotiate a minimum 1st radius curve of 371 mm. The prototype was introduced in the late 1950s and remained in service until 1971. The model does not incorporate any DCC decoder or sound functions.
