The Bachmann model represents a British Rail Class 04 diesel‑mechanical shunter, number 11226, in OO gauge (1:76). It reproduces the 0‑6‑0DM locomotive built by Drewry Car Co. at the Vulcan Foundry and Robert Stephenson & Hawthorns, with prototype build dates 1948 and production between 1952 and 1962.
The model measures 108 mm in length, features a plastic and metal chassis, NEM pocket couplings and a tension‑lock coupling system. It is supplied without directional or interior lighting, and does not include a pickup in the tender. The locomotive was used by British Rail and various industrial operators for shunting duties until withdrawn in 1971.
