The Bachmann Class 04 shunter is an OO gauge model of a British Rail diesel‑mechanical locomotive, running number D2280. It represents the 0‑6‑0DM shunter built between 1952 and 1962, originally constructed by Drewery Car Co., Vulcan Foundry and Robert Stephenson & Hawthorns.

The model measures 108 mm in length and runs on a plastic and metal chassis with NEM pocket couplings and tension‑lock coupling rods. It is suitable for minimum radius curves of 371 mm (1st radius) and reproduces the locomotive's original diesel‑mechanical power arrangement.

The prototype served British Rail, the Central Electricity Generating Board and the National Coal Board on shunting duties until 1971, with a total of 144 built. The Bachmann version captures the locomotive’s distinctive form and details.
