Accurascale Class 31 No 5674 is a highly detailed OO gauge (1:76.2) model of a British Rail diesel locomotive in BR green with full yellow ends and the late crest. The locomotive is fitted with DCC and factory‑installed sound, using an ESU LokSound V5 decoder and a large EM2‑type speaker. All wheels provide power pickup and the model includes a working speed‑controlled roof fan that operates on both DC and DCC.

The model represents a locomotive built by Brush Traction between 1957 and 1962 and depicts the period of the British Rail late crest. It has a pristine finish, interior lighting, and a heavy die‑cast metal chassis. The wheel arrangement is A1A‑A1A, with RP25‑110 profile wheels and fully sprung NEM / tension‑lock couplers mounted at the correct height.

Key technical features include a 5‑pole motor with two large flywheels, a helical gear box, and gearing that allows a scale top speed of 90 mph (145 km/h). The PowerPack supercapacitor Stay‑Alive system provides uninterrupted power, flicker‑free lighting and continuous sound. Lighting is directional with separate day and night settings, switchable red and white marker lights, and cab illumination that reacts to movement.

The model incorporates extensive etched metal and plastic detail such as grab handles, steps, wipers, roof grille, nameplates and a full under‑body battery box with pipework. Brake blocks are aligned with the wheels and the bogies feature separate footsteps, brake cylinders, speed recorder and end‑brake rigging. The product is supplied as a ready‑to‑run locomotive with a 21‑pin MTX socket for DCC control.
