The Rapido Trains UK OO Gauge Highland Railway Loch Class 4-4-0 range is a new series of model locomotives that represent the Dübs & Co. built locomotives of this class. The Highland Railway's Loch Class was a series of 18 locomotives designed by David Jones in the late 19th century to haul passenger trains over the Inverness to Perth line and the new direct line via Aviemore.

The locomotives were built between 1896 and 1897, with an order for 15 locomotives placed with Dübs & Co. in 1896. The class consisted of locomotives with names of Scottish lochs, including Loch Garry, which is the subject of the model. The locomotives were designed to produce 17,070 lbs of tractive effort, which was a significant improvement over the Strath Class.

The class was successful in its intended role, with the locomotives proving reliable and suitable for hauling trains over the challenging terrain of the Scottish Highlands. During World War I, three additional locomotives were built by the North British Locomotive Company to supplement the original order.

The Loch Class locomotives were eventually superseded by the Castle Class, but they continued to be used for local passenger services and branch line work until they were inherited by the London, Midland and Scottish Railway (LMS) in 1923. The LMS made some modifications to the locomotives, including fitting new boilers to some of the original Dübs & Co. locomotives.

The Rapido Trains UK models will be available in a variety of liveries, including pre-grouping, LMS, and BR, as well as a 'what if' Highland Railway yellow livery. The models will feature a range of detailing variants, including different chimneys, domes, safety valves, and smokeboxes. Other details include lubricators, safety valve turrets, tender gongs, and whistle rods. The models will also feature a smooth-running mechanism, factory-installed speakers, NEM coupler pockets, and a 21-pin DCC decoder socket.
