Manufacturer description

LMS locomotive 6245 ‘City of London’ was built in 1943 and fitted with streamlined casing, which remained through the rest of the war and most of its LMS operation. The locomotive was eventually withdrawn and scrapped in September 1964 having spent the majority of its life based at the Camden Shed. In total ‘City of London’ covered over 1.4 million miles over the course of its life.
