Hornby BR Princess Royal, 4‑6‑2 locomotive, running number 46206 and named “Princess Marie Louise”. The model is an Era 4 representation, supplied in pristine condition with an experimental blue livery. It carries the Hornby part number R3711X and features an 8‑pin NEM 652 DCC socket.
The model is gauge OO and is fitted with a 5‑pole skew‑wound motor. It can negotiate a minimum radius of 438 mm (second radius curve) and measures 299 mm in length. Power is collected from both the driving wheels and the tender wheels, and it uses NEM/Tension‑lock couplings. The locomotive is painted in the early British Railways crest period and is supplied with a running number of 46206.
The prototype was built by LMS Crewe Works between 1933 and 1935, with a total production run of 13 units. Designed by Sir William Stanier, the 4‑6‑2 “Princess Royal” class was originally to be named Princess Maud; the locomotive entered service on loan at Crewe North before moving to Camden, as did most of its class.
