Prototype Era
Era 4 (1948 to 1956) British Railways Early Crest
Originally proposed to be named as Princess Maud, 6206 Princess Marie Louise entered service on loan at Crewe North before heading on to Camden as the majority of the class did from new.
Renumbered as 46206 on 27 November, 1948 while at Crewe North Shed, Princess Marie Louise was one of four 'Princess Royals' to receive the experimental British Railways Blue livery in November 1950 before switching to BR Green with emblems in August 1953.
* Class names often change over the lifespan of a locomotive, so this is not necessarily the class name used by the operator in the period modelled.

Hornby BR Princess Royal 4‑6‑2 46206 “Princess Marie Louise” is a ready‑to‑run (DCC Ready with an 8‑pin socket) OO gauge model of the LMS Princess Royal steam locomotive. It features a 5‑pole skew‑wound motor, power pickup from the driving and tender wheels, and runs on NEM/tension‑lock couplings. The locomotive is finished in experimental British Railways blue livery, with a pristine condition finish, and measures 299 mm in length.
The model represents locomotive number 46206, built by LMS Crewe Works between 1933 and 1935, one of a total of 13 Princess Royal class engines designed by Sir William Stanier. It carries the 4‑6‑2 wheel arrangement, operates under British Railways, and is supplied under Hornby part number R3711.
Historically, the engine entered service as 6206 Princess Marie Louise on loan at Crewe North, was renumbered 46206 on 27 November 1948, and was one of four class members to receive the experimental British Railways blue livery in November 1950 before being repainted in BR green with emblems in August 1953.
