Dapol GWR Toplight Mainline City Twin City Chocolate & Cream Composite 7905 Set 3

This model is a representation of a GWR Toplight Mainline City coach, produced in the iconic chocolate and cream livery. The model features a DCC status of 6, indicating it is compatible with DCC control systems.

The model is part of a larger range of coaches produced by Dapol, which includes all third, composite and brake third coaches. These coaches are the perfect companion to the Dapol 61xx Prairie 2-6-2 locomotive.

The real-life coaches were built by Swindon Works between 1920 and 1921, with six sets of coaches produced in total. They were designed for commuter traffic from Reading and Windsor into the City of London, and were able to travel directly to Aldgate and Liverpool Street on the Metropolitan Underground system due to their lower height.

The coaches were eventually removed from revenue-earning service in December 1956, with the last three coaches in service being converted into workmen's coaches for a service between Glyncorrwg and North Rhondda Halt in 1958.

The model features a highly accurate injection moulded body, with details such as bolection window mouldings and frosted Toplight windows. The model also includes separate metal door and commode handles, wire end hand rails and separately applied end communication details. The chassis is highly detailed, with vacuum tanks, battery boxes and brake linkages all accurately represented.

The model is equipped with a kinematic coupling system, allowing for smooth and close coupling with other models. The coaches can negotiate R2 radius curves, and feature sprung metal buffers and internal lighting. The model can be optionally fitted with a six pin DCC decoder, such as the Dapol Imperium Four.
