Accurascale has released a set of three OO gauge model HCA MGR hopper wagons in EWS livery. The wagons are available in a maroon finish with running numbers 351077, 351119, and 354295. The models feature a pristine finish and NEM couplers. The minimum radius curve required to operate the wagons is 438mm, equivalent to 2nd radius on a set-track layout.
The models are highly-detailed and feature a die-cast chassis for added weight. The interior is detailed with rivets, framing, strapping, and accurately profiled door 'horns'. The wheels are RP25-110 profile OO gauge and feature separate brake blocks in line with the tread. The wagons also feature sprung metal buffers and dummy instanter couplings.
The Accurascale HCA MGR hopper wagons are designed to represent the initial privatisation period, with a built date range of 1964 to 1982. The models are suitable for use with 16.5mm track and have a minimum weight of 40g. The set includes removable Kinetic NEM coupler mounts and mini-tension-lock couplers with scale instanter couplings.
The Accurascale range includes numerous individual differences between wagon types, including three body styles, two styles of hopper door, and various other details such as canopies, door operating equipment covers, and bufferbeam brake pipe configurations. The models are designed to be highly detailed and accurate representations of the real-life HCA MGR hopper wagons.
