HAA Hopper Wagons, Three Pack, BR Railfreight - Era 8
Accurascale has released a set of three OO gauge coal hopper wagons, modelled as Railfreight Red HAA wagons. The pack contains three individually numbered wagons, with running numbers 350005, 351902, and 357149, all with a pristine finish and NEM couplings.
These models are part of the MGR "Merry Go Round" wagon series, which covers various wagon types including the HAA, HDA, and CDA. The HAA wagons were built between 1964 and 1982 at BR Darlington Works, BR Shildon Works, and BR Ashford Works. The models are designed to replicate the wagons during the British Rail Blue (TOPS) period.
The models feature intricate details, including rivets, framing, and accurately profiled door 'horns', as well as die-cast chassis for added weight. They also come with RP25-110 profile OO gauge wheels and separate brake blocks. The wagons can be easily converted to EM and P4 gauge track, and feature sprung metal buffers and dummy instanter couplings.
The models are designed to be highly detailed, with etched metal details such as brake levers, chassis plates, and other small parts. They also feature removable, Kinetic NEM coupler mounts at the correct height, with mini-tension-lock couplers and scale instanter couplings provided. The models are designed to be highly accurate, with individual differences between wagon types taken into account.
The models are available in a range of body styles, including as-built, rebodied, and CDA variants, with different hopper door styles, canopy styles, and operating equipment covers. The CDA variant features a large end air cylinder and above solebar mounted brake distributor, while the HBA/HDA variant features correct modifications to the brake disc caliper operating equipment. The models are designed to be highly realistic, with a focus on accuracy and detail.
